In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 2 of the Police Act, 1861 (Act 5 of 1861) and in supersession of the rules, regulations, orders and instructions except as in respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Government do hereby make the following rules for regulating the method of recruitment and conditions of service of the persons appointed to the posts of Drivers in the Odisha Police Motor Transport and Odisha State Armed Police (Special Security) Battalions Service, namely:-
