The Jamia Millia Islamia Act, 1988 Act No. 58 of 1988 [8th October, 1988.] An Act to establish and incorporate a teaching University in the Union territory of Delhi and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. WHEREAS it is expedient to establish and incorporate a teaching University at New Delhi, to dissolve the "Jamia Millia Islamia Society, Delhi", a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (21 of 1860) and to transfer to and vest in the said University all properties and rights of the said Society; BE it enacted by Parliament in the Thirty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-    |
