Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1976 24. Supply, etc. of reference standards . – (1) The Central Government shall cause to be prepared, for -the purposes of this Act, as many sets of reference standards as it may think necessary and shall supply to each State Government as many sets of reference standards as it may think fit. (2) The Central Government shall keep in its custody, for the purposes of this Act, such number of reference standards as may be necessary. (3) Every reference standard referred to in sub-section (2) shall be kept at such place and in such custody as may be prescribed and no such reference standard shall be deemed to be a reference standard and shall be used as such unless it has been verified and authenticated in accordance with the rules made under this Act.    |
