Chapter I 1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited and the North-Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (Acquisition and Transfer of Power Transmission Systems) Act, 1993. (2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir. (3) The provisions of sections 8 to 11 and sections 13 to 16 shall be deemed to have come into force on the 8th day of January, 1993 and the remaining provisions of this Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 1992 and any reference to the commencement of this Act in any provision of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the commencement of that provision.    |
