The Joint-stock Companies Act, 1857

XVI. Penalty on Company not keeping a proper Register.-

If any Company registered under this Act makes default in keeping a Register of shareholders, or in sending a copy of such list and summary as aforesaid to the Registrar in compliance with the foregoing rules, such Company shall incur a penalty not exceeding fifty Rupees for every day during which such default continues.
