62. Candidates deemed to be elected if their number is
equal to or less than the number of persons to be elected
If the number of candidates validly nominated in any
constituency is equal, or becomes, by reason of the death or cessation of
membership of one or more candidates before the counting of votes for the
election, equal to or less than the number of persons to be elected for such
constituency, then such candidates shall be deemed to be elected and the
Secretary shall declare all such candidates duly elected; and where the number
of such candidates in that constituency is less than the number of persons to be
elected for that constituency, the Secretary shall commence fresh proceedings
for the election of the remaining number of members to be elected from that
constituency.
