53. Members eligible to vote

(1) Every member of the Institute shall be entitled to vote in any election to the Council by the constituency to which according to his professional address he belonged on a date immediately five months prior to the date on which the list of members eligible to vote in any election is published, provided that his name has been borne on the Register of Members continuously for a period of not less than five months immediately prior to the date of publication of the list of members eligible to vote in that election and provided further that on lst October of the year previous to that in which the election is held, his entrance fee, annual membership fee and other dues for and in respect of the year previous to that in which the election is held, are not in arrears.

(2) A member whose name stands removed from the Register of Members on the date on which he has to cast his vote shall not be entitled to vote at the election notwithstanding that his name has been published in the list of voters.
