10th Amity International Moot Court Competition, 2020

Amity Law School, Noida is going to organize the 10th Amity International Moot Court Competition, 2020

Date: 9th - 11th October, 2020

Corona virus and quarantines have frozen the entire population. COVID-19 has brought truly unprecedented times that no one saw coming. Seemingly overnight, the world as we knew it, changed. As the corona virus started to jump borders and spread across the continents, gripping the world and the government implementing a lockdown - while advocating social distancing, people have been confined to homes, isolating themselves and working from home. This non-contact norm during the pandemic has boosted engagement online. Rightly said by Benjamin Franklin "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest."

Amity Law School, Noida established by Ritnand Balved Education Foundation in the year 1999 has the vision of intellectual awakening and all round development of our nation through education. It strives for bringing in positive change in the status quo of the society through innovative and practical ideas. Since its inception, the college has attained numerous laurels to its credit and has successfully attained a distinguished stature. And this year the focus of ALS is to bring innovation and change to traditional mooting.

Amity International Moot Court Competition has been the "Annual Flagship Event" and this year it aims to provide the participants with a first-hand experience of communicating and mooting with the teams who are either in different States or are Overseas. It is the most awaited event fostering quality research, analysis, writing and oratory skills among the young budding lawyers. The moot court will simulate proceedings before the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The competition will be a unique opportunity to discuss fascinating issues of law of the sea, and also to engage with the many procedural facets of international dispute settlement.

The case typically involves complex issues of international law, ranging from State responsibility to the law of sea and maritime rights.

Amity International Moot Court Competition further provides an insight into international legal concerns. It intends to provide an opportunity to the participants to learn the court craft by constant observation and have a real life courtroom experience online. We hope this competition will be an excellent opportunity for all the participants to hone their advocacy skills and widen their intellectual horizons. Also, the insights that students will garner from esteemed dignitaries will empower them to excel in future that awaits them. And by using this virtual platform, the event aims to instill confidence in students and motivate them to overcome the ongoing crisis by exploring new dimensions of innovation in legal practice skill generation.
