1st Amity Virtual Moot Court Competition 2020

Amity Law School, Noida is going to organize the 1st Amity Virtual Moot Court Competition 2020.

Date: 8th & 9th May, 2020

Eligibility:

  • All recognized law schools, universities and institutions in India or abroad with minimum three year of LL.B. courses shall be eligible to participate.
  • Each participating team shall comprise of minimum of two members and maximum of three members, wherein two members, shall be designated as Speakers and one member as Researcher (optional).
  • No team shall contradict the composition mentioned above. No faculty member, coach, or a designated observer will be allowed to join the video-conferencing or chat room during the session.
  • The language of the competition will be English.

Registration:

  • Teams are supposed to complete their registration by 3rd May, 2020 by 23:59 hours IST.
  • The Registration Fee is Rs. 1000. The Registration shall be done by filling up the Application form, available : https://forms.gle/R5afFpSvUvkEyRhM6
  • The number of participating teams is limited and hence, the registrations will be done on first come first serve basis.
  • The Registration shall be deemed complete only when the Registration fee has been remitted successfully and the Application form is duly filled.
  • Once the application form is filled, the Organizing Committee shall send a confirmation mail to the teams (within 24 hours of registration), which shall consist of their Team Code and an app link through which they will be connecting for videoconferencing
  • The teams shall quote this Team Code in all further communications with the Organizing Committee.

Formatting Guidelines:

  • For Main Text:
    • Font type: Times New Roman
    • Font size: 12
    • Line spacing: 1.5
    • Body of text: Justified
  • For Heading
    • Font type: Times New Roman
    • Font size: 14
  • For Cover Page
    • Font type: Times New Roman
    • Font size: 16
  • Team Code:
    • The team code must be ascribed on the top right corner of the cover page.The Written Submission shall nowhere mention any particulars of the team, except the Team Code. There must be no mention of Name, Contact number, Email id, University name etc.
  • Length
    • The limitation on length must be kept in check on the bases of the following stipulations:
    • The statement of facts, including section headings must be no longer than 2 pages
    • The summary of pleadings may not be longer than 2 pages.
    • The total length of the Pleadings, including the section headings, conclusion/prayer for relief, and any associated footnotes, must be no longer than 30 pages. (9500 words)

Memorandum:

  • Each Team participating in the Competition must prepare a memorandum on behalf of the Prosecutor/Applicant and on the behalf of the Defendant/Respondent.
  • Each team must send its memoranda via e-mail to the O.C. at virtualmootalsn@gmail.com latest by 6th May, 2020 by 23:59
  • hours IST. Please note that NO HARD COPIES ARE TO BE SUBMITTED.
  • Any memorial submitted after the deadline shall be subject to penalty for late submission.
  • The Memorial must contain the following parts only:
    • Cover Page;
    • Table of Contents;
    • Index of Authorities;
    • Statement of Jurisdiction;
    • Questions Presented;
    • Statement of Facts;
    • Summary of Pleadings; and
    • Pleadings (including Conclusion/Prayer for Relief).

NOTE: The Table of Contents must be hyperlinked for the ready reference of the Judges.

Important Dates:

Last date for Registrations: 3rd May, 2020
Last date for Submission of soft copy of Memorial: 6th May, 2020
Last date of Preliminary Round Video Submission: 7th May, 2020
Announcement of Results: 8th May, 2020
Draw of Lots and Exchange of Memorials for Semi-Final Rounds: 8th May, 2020
Semi Finals and Finals: 9th May, 2020
